Why
Polyurethanes |
Polyurethane elastomers are high-performance materials with exceptional properties, making them useful in an increasingly wide range of applications. They are impressively versatile, varying from light and flexible, as soft as skin, to strong and rigid, as hard as bone with an infinite variety between. Tough, resilient materials, they can outperform steels and rubbers for abrasion resistance and can be moulded to any shape. Microcellular polyurethanes have astonishing damping abilities, controlling shock, noise and vibration in the most arduous conditions. Polyurethanes are powerful materials that protect and insulate miles of sub-sea pipelines in harsh and aggressive environments, and withstand scouring of erosive rocks and slurries in coal chutes. They are also sophisticated, engineered precisely to add vital performance to Formula One racing cars and cushion aircraft landings, whilst elegant architectural furnishings can be moulded to reproduce the finest detail in colours that will last. Processing these two-component liquids is simple. They
have many benefits over their competitors, as they require low heating,
are fast curing and are economic to use. They can be moulded, sprayed
or rotationally cast to form any desired size, shape and thickness.
